1. Introduction

TATTVAMASI Charitable Trust® (“Trust”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to maintaining transparency in the handling of donations and contributions received through our website.

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains the circumstances under which a donation may be considered for cancellation or refund.

2. Donations

Donations made to TATTVAMASI Charitable Trust® through the website are voluntary contributions intended to support the charitable and social welfare activities of the Trust.

Once a donation has been successfully completed, it is generally non-refundable and cannot be cancelled, except in the circumstances described in this Policy.

3. Eligible Refund Situations

A refund request may be considered in the following circumstances:

  • Duplicate transaction: The same donation has been charged more than once due to a technical or payment-processing error.

  • Unauthorised transaction: A transaction is reported as unauthorised and sufficient information is provided for verification.

  • Technical/payment error: The donor’s account has been debited but the donation transaction was not successfully recorded by the Trust.

  • Incorrect amount due to technical error: An amount materially different from the amount intentionally entered by the donor was charged due to a technical issue.

Refund requests will be reviewed individually and are subject to verification.

4. Non-Refundable Donations

Donations will generally not be refunded merely because:

  • The donor has changed their mind after completing the transaction.

  • The donor later decides not to support the selected charitable activity.

  • The donor entered incorrect personal information, except where correction or refund is legally or operationally appropriate.

  • The donor has already received a valid donation receipt.

  • The donation has already been allocated or utilised for a charitable purpose.

5. Refund Request Period

A refund request should normally be submitted within 7 days from the date of the transaction.

Requests submitted after this period may be considered only in exceptional circumstances, particularly where the transaction involves a duplicate charge, technical error or unauthorised payment.

6. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please contact the Trust using the details provided below.

The request should include:

  • Donor’s full name

  • Registered email address or mobile number

  • Date of transaction

  • Amount donated

  • Transaction/reference ID

  • Reason for requesting the refund

  • Relevant payment confirmation or supporting document, where available

For security and verification purposes, we may request additional information before processing a refund.

Important: Never send your UPI PIN, card PIN, CVV, password or other confidential payment credentials to the Trust.

7. Refund Verification

All refund requests are subject to verification.

The Trust may verify the transaction with the relevant payment gateway, bank or financial service provider before approving a refund.

The Trust reserves the right to reject a refund request where the transaction cannot be verified or where the request does not meet the conditions of this Policy.

8. Refund Processing

If a refund is approved, it will normally be processed through the original payment method used for the donation, wherever technically possible.

The time taken for the refunded amount to appear in the donor’s bank account or payment account may depend on the payment gateway, bank or financial institution.

The Trust is not responsible for delays caused by banks, payment gateways or other third-party financial service providers.

9. Payment Gateway Charges

Where applicable, payment gateway or transaction-processing charges may not be refundable if they have already been deducted by the payment service provider.

The actual refund amount will depend on the circumstances of the transaction and the applicable payment gateway rules.

10. Cancellation of Recurring Donations

If the website provides a recurring donation or subscription facility, the donor may request cancellation of future recurring payments by contacting the Trust.

Cancellation of a recurring donation will stop future contributions after the cancellation request has been processed. Amounts already successfully charged before cancellation may not be refundable unless they qualify under this Policy.

Where recurring payments are controlled directly through a third-party payment provider, the donor may also need to cancel the recurring mandate through that provider.

11. Fraudulent or Unauthorised Transactions

If you believe that your payment instrument has been used without your authorisation, please contact your bank or payment service provider immediately and inform the Trust as soon as possible.

The Trust may cooperate with the relevant bank, payment gateway or authorities in investigating suspected fraudulent transactions.

12. Changes to Donation Details

If you have entered incorrect information while making a donation, please contact the Trust as soon as possible.

Where the donation has not yet been processed or the correction can reasonably be made, the Trust may assist with updating the relevant information.

13. Policy Changes

TATTVAMASI Charitable Trust® reserves the right to modify this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in its activities, payment systems, legal requirements or operational procedures.

The revised Policy will be published on the website with an updated effective date.
